Indonesia Implementation Workshop, Sydney 15-16 January 2015
On 15 & 16 January the APG Secretariat hosted a workshop for a delegation of senior officials from the Indonesian Judiciary, Police, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesia’s FIU (PPATK). In addition to discussing ICRG-related issues, the workshop followed up on a range of issues arising from the Implementation Issues Working Group (IIWG) workshop on targeted financial sanctions held in Jakarta in late 2014.
Supported by the US Department of Justice and the New Zealand IIWG Co-chair (New Zealand Ministry of Justice), the workshop provided a forum to review Indonesia’s draft joint regulations to support the implementation of targeted financial sanctions against terrorism.
Indonesia plans to finalise and gazette the joint regulations prior to the FATF Plenary in Paris in February 2015.
The workshop was held in parallel to the FATF Asia/Pacific Regional Review Group meetings held in Sydney on 14-16 January. The APG thanked the government of Canada for their funding contributions to support this important workshop.
