APG Assessor Training Workshop, March 2023, Tokyo, Japan
From 9-13 March 2023, the APG held its first fully in-person Assessor Training Workshop since 2019.
The workshop was generously hosted and supported by Japan in Tokyo and attended by 38 experts from 24 APG members and 1 APG Secretariat staff member. The training was supported by the APG Mutual Evaluation Committee (MEC) Co-Chairs from Macao, China and New Zealand and experts from Malaysia, Japan and the APG Secretariat.
During the week participants worked through the evaluation of a fictional country, including review of its legislation and regulations, conduct of mock interviews, preparation of a mutual evaluation report and presentation of team findings to plenary. Participants who successfully completed the course are now eligible to act as assessors and reviewers on mutual evaluations and follow-up reports.
The APG is planning to deliver an in-person joint assessor training workshop with the FATF in the last quarter of 2023.
