New report released: Protecting Non-Profit Organizations from Terrorism Financing Abuse
The APG and Global Center on Cooperative Security are pleased to release their joint report entitled Implementation of FATF Recommendation 8 and Immediate Outcome 10 - Successes, Challenges, and Lessons Learned from the Asia Pacific Region.
The report supports APG members and NPOs operationalizing best practices on FATF Recommendation 8 (NPOs and TF) by providing context-specific analysis of areas where further guidance, support, and capacity development assistance may be beneficial in the Asia/Pacific region. The report supports a long-term goal of improving risk-based approaches to protecting NPOs from terrorism financing abuse while safeguarding civic space, human rights, humanitarian action, and access to financial services.
The APG and the Global Center on Cooperative Security thank the government of the Netherlands for their financial support and the members of the project team that included representatives from Australia, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Islamic Development Bank, and the non-governmental organizations Community World Service Asia, Human Security Collective, International Center for Not-for-Profit Law, Monash University, and Portal Indonesia NGO.
