APG appoints a new Executive Secretary, Dr Chris Black

24 May 2024

Following an international selection exercise the APG Co-chairs have appointed Dr Chris Black as the new APG Executive Secretary commencing 10 June 2024.  Dr Chris Black succeeds Dr Gordon Hook who held the post of APG Executive Secretary for 18 years.

Dr Chris Black joins the APG at a crucial time for the organisation and he is ideally placed to lead the Secretariat as the APG embarks on the next round of mutual evaluations and other core APG work.

Dr Black comes to this key international position following more than 25 years in organisational leadership, change management, and leadership of law enforcement and criminal intelligence programs.  He joins the APG having been a long-time senior executive with the Australian Federal Police (AFP), having served as the Chief of Staff to two AFP Commissioners.

We welcome Chris to the APG community.
